Mexico City, Ajusco, Second Race of the XCO National Series

San Nicolas is a high altitude racetrack, ranging around 2800 meters high. Since this is over a thousand meters difference from were we live, we decided to arrive just the night before to minimize the effects of altitude.

Emil F. has a good start and fights for third place with Azua. He finishes fourth. Emil F. is only ten years old and his new category is for children 11-12 years old. So far, this season looks very good, and it shows how competitive he's likely to be in 2011.

Great start for Emil F.

Emil F. in fourth place.

At the start, Michel is entangled with a racer riding a 26' wheel bike (not permitted under the current rules) and ends up last in the field. Ahead there is a technical steep hill, Michel's specialty. He charges up the hill passing riders and manages to pass all riders. He rides the downhill very fast and arrives to the finish line with a big margin on the second place.

Chaos at the start.

Michel finishes in first place.
